Die Aktualisierung für 2013 ist noch nicht erfolgt. An den Bedingungen hat sich aber nicht viel geändert und man kann davon ausgehen, das auch in 2014 alles beim Bewährten bleibt.

 Art. 1 – Organisation

Der Berglauf TRANSVULCANIA 2013 SALOMON Nature Trails wird sowohl vom Inselamt für Umwelt als auch vom Fremdenverkehrsamt La Palma organisiert. Darüber hinaus werden die Organisatoren vom Inselamt für Sport sowie anderen Institutionen und Sponsoren unterstützt.

Art. 2 – Wettlauf

Der TRANSVULCANIA 2013 SALOMON Nature Trails (im Folgenden TRANSVULCANIA 2013) ist ein Berglauf, der die Insel La Palma auf zwei ihrer großen Wanderwege (GR 130 und GR 131) überquert. Der große Lauf (Ultramarathon, 83 km) beginnt am Leuchtturm in der Gemeinde Fuencaliente und endet in der Gemeinde Los Llanos de Aridane. Der kleine Lauf (Halbmarathon, 26 km) startet ebenfalls am Leuchtturm in der Gemeinde Fuencaliente und endet im Erholungsgebiet Refugio de El Pilar.

Der Wettlauf beginnt am 11. Mai 2013 ab 6.00 Uhr.

Art. 3 – Richtlinien

Die im Folgenden ausgegebenen Richtlinien sind von allen Teilnehmern der TRANSVULCANIA 2013 strikt einzuhalten. Jeder Verstoß gegen diese Richtlinien wird vom Preisgericht der TRANSVULCANIA 2013, das sich aus der Leitung des Berglaufs, einem Mitglied des Organisationskomitees, einem Teilnehmer-Vertreter, einem Schiedsgericht und einem Inselrat der Inselregierung von La Palma zusammensetzt, abgeurteilt werden.

Die Teilnahme

•   Die Teilnahme an dem Berglauf steht allen Personen offen, die sich ordnungsgemäß zur Teilnahme anmelden. Hierzu ist das Anmeldeformular vollständig auszufüllen und ein Nachweis über die Einzahlung der Anmeldegebühr dem Organisationskomitee vorzulegen. Weitere Informationen dazu lesen Sie im Verlauf der vorliegenden Richtlinien.

•   Der Teilnehmer hat der Organisationsleitung den Nachweis über die Entrichtung der Anmeldegebühr,das Erklärungsformular zur Übernahme eigener Verantwortung und ein offizielles Ausweisdokument vorzulegen. Minderjährige Läufer ab dem 16. Lebensjahr müssen der Organisationsleitung darüber hinaus das ausgefüllte und unterschriebene Einverständnisformular eines Erziehungsberechtigten vorlegen, das von der Webseite der TRANSVULCANIA 2013 herunter geladen werden kann. Am eigentlichen Tag der Veranstaltung können keine Startnummern mehr vergeben werden.

•   Die Teilnehmer verpflichten sich, die Umgebung und Richtlinien des Berglaufs zu respektieren und die Wege sauber zu halten. Dies gilt insbesondere für die Aufnahme von Lebensmitteln und Flüssigkeiten auf der Strecke. Alle Verpackungen und Gefäße sind in den aufgestellten Müll-Behältern zu entsorgen. Jede angezeigte Zuwiderhandlung dieser Richtlinien führt zum sofortigen Ausschluss des Läufers von der TRANSVULCANIA 2012.

•   Die Altersstufe für die Teilnahme am Ultramarathon bezieht sich ausschließlich auf Teilnehmer, die die Volljährigkeit vollendet haben. Minderjährige, die das 16. Lebensjahr vollendet haben, können mit einer Vollmacht eines Erziehungsberechtigten am Halbmarathon teilnehmen.

•   Bei dem Berglauf TRANSVULCANIA 2013 handelt es sich um einen Lauf mit extremen Streckenverläufen und Höhenunterschieden. Daher empfehlen wir für die Teilnahme eine besonders gute sportliche Kondition.

•   Die Teilnahme am Lauf schließt die Inanspruchnahme von externen Hilfsmitteln jeder Art oder zusätzlicher Verpflegung, die nicht von der Organisationsleitung an den ausgewiesenen Versorgungsstationen gestellt wurde, aus. Die Begleitung akkreditierter Läufer durch Personen ohne Teilnahmeberechtigung ist untersagt.

•   Die Startnummern werden am 10. Mai von der Organisationsleitung an autorisierten Stellen ausgegeben. Ohne Ausnahme müssen Teilnehmern ihre Startnummer persönlich entgegen nehmen. Der Teilnehmer hat der Organisationsleitung den Nachweis über die Entrichtung der Anmeldegebühr, den Beitritt eines entsprechenden Sportvereins/Versicherung für den Tag des Wettlaufes, das Erklärungsformular zur Übernahme eigener Verantwortung und ein offizielles Ausweisdokument vorzulegen. Minderjährige Läufer ab dem 16. Lebensjahr müssen der Organisationsleitung darüber hinaus das ausgefüllte und unterschriebene Einverständnisformular eines Erziehungsberechtigten vorlegen, das von der Webseite der TRANSVULCANIA 2013 herunter geladen werden kann. Am eigentlichen Tag der Veranstaltung können keine Startnummern mehr vergeben werden.

•   Der Teilnehmer darf seine Startnummer an keine andere Person übergeben, diese verändern oder auf eine andere Weise unkenntlich machen. Die Startnummer muss über den ganzen Lauf hin sichtbar getragen werden.

•   Der Teilnehmer muss während des Laufs zu jeder Zeit als akkreditierter Läufer zu erkennen sein. Hierzu wird dem Läufer von der Organisationsleitung zusammen mit der Startnummer ein Brustpapier ausgehändigt, auf dem die Notrufnummer des Notfall-Teams angegeben ist. Die Inanspruchnahme des Notfall-Teams ist ausschließlich in Notfällen oder zur Rettung des Läufers erlaubt. Die Missachtung dieser Richtlinie führt zur sofortigen Disqualifizierung des Teilnehmers.

Der Wettlauf

•   Die Distanz des Berglaufs TRANSVULCANIA 2013 in der Kategorie Ultramarathon beträgt rund 83,3 km und weist einen Höhenunterschied von insgesamt 8.525 m auf (4.415 m bergauf und 4.110 m bergab). Die Distanz in der Kategorie Halbmarathon beträgt rund 26,8 km und weist einen Höhenunterschied von insgesamt 2.910 m auf (2.180 m bergauf und 730 m bergab).

•   Die Strecken verlaufen über die zwei großen Wanderwege der Insel, GR 130 und GR 131, und führen – abgesehen vom Startpunkt im Bereich Los Canarios, einem Bereich in der Ortschaft Puerto de Tazacorte und dem Zielgebiet in der Ortschaft Los Llanos de Aridane, kaum durch bewohnte Bereiche.

•   Die Strecke ist durch ein speziell für diesen Lauf angefertigtes Begrenzungsband gekennzeichnet. Der Streckenverlauf ist auf der Webseite ausgewiesen. Jede Änderung des Streckenverlaufs wird auf dieser Webseite bekannt gegeben.

•   Der Streckenverlauf wird während des Wettlaufs nicht vom Verkehr abgesperrt. Daher ist der Läufer angehalten, auf eventuellen Verkehr zu achten und die Verkehrsordnungen auf den Wegen zu respektieren. An den Stellen zur Überquerung von Straßen ist Personal der Organisationsleitung aufgestellt und Sicherheitsmaßnahmen umgesetzt. Auf der gesamten Strecke befinden sich an ausgewiesenen Bereichen Stellen medizinischer Versorgung.

•  Auf der gesamten Strecke ist den Anweisungen des Personals der Organisationsleitung Folge zu leisten. Die Missachtung dieser Richtlinie führt zur sofortigen Disqualifizierung des Teilnehmers.

•   Der Wettlauf wird mittels des elektronischen Überwachungssystems Champion-Chip kontrolliert. Zu diesem Zweck wird jedem Läufer ein Chip ausgehändigt, der von ihnen auf der gesamten Strecke zu tragen ist. Die Organisationsleitung stellt auf den Strecken Kontrollpunkte auf, um Zwischenzeiten der Läufer zu nehmen und um sicherzustellen, dass jeder Läufer die Strecke ordnungsgemäß bewältigt. Der Chip ist vom Läufer im Zielbereich der Strecke oder am nächstgelegenen Kontrollpunkt bei Abbruch des Laufs zurückzugeben.

•   Den Läufern in der Kategorie Ultramarathon wird zur Bewältigung der Strecke eine Maximaldauer von 18 Stunden zugebilligt. Darüber hinaus gelten für sie folgende Zeiten für das Passieren der Kontrollpunkte: der 4. Kontrollpunkt auf der Strecke (Refugio de El Pilar) muss innerhalb von 6 Stunden (12.00 Uhr) erreicht worden sein. Der 8. Kontrollpunkt auf der Strecke (Roque de Los Muchachos) muss innerhalb von maximal 12 Stunden (18.00 Uhr) und der 10. Kontrollpunkt (Puerto de Tazacorte) in 17 Stunden (23.00 Uhr) erreicht worden sein. Jeder Läufer, der die angegebenen Kontrollpunkte später erreicht, wird disqualifiziert. Dem disqualifizierten Läufer wird nach der Entgegennahme seiner Startnummer und seines Chips freigestellt, außer Konkurrenz und auf eigene Verantwortung weiter zu laufen.

•   Jeder Läufer, der die Strecke während des Wettlaufs verlässt, muss dies dem Personal der Organisationsleitung am nächsten Kontrollpunkt anzeigen.

•   Alle Teilnehmer an dem TRANSVULCANIA 2013 müssen folgendes Sicherheitsmaterial mit sich führen, dessen Mitführen zu jedem Zeitpunkt und an jeder Stelle kontrolliert werden kann: ausreichend Trinkwasser (in Trinksäcken oder -gurten, mindestens 1 Liter), Stirnlampe, rote Rückenlampe, Wärmedecke und das bei der Anmeldung angegebene  Handy. Die Teilnehmer am Halbmarathon sind ohne Wärmedecke und die angegebene Menge an Trinkwasser teilnahmeberechtigt, jedoch wird das Mitführen dieses Sicherheitsmaterials dringend empfohlen.

•   Die Läufer, die das oben aufgeführte Sicherheitsmaterial nicht bei sich führen, werden disqualifiziert und vom Lauf ausgeschlossen.

•   Die Organisationsleitung stellt allen Läufern an der Versorgungsstation auf dem Roque de Los Muchachos einen Behälter zur Verfügung, in dem Objekte und Laufmaterial wie Stöcke, Kleidungsstücke usw. abgelegt werden können. Die Organisationsleitung übernimmt jedoch für die Aushändigung der Materialien nur dann die Verantwortung, wenn diese einwandfrei den Läufern zugeordnet werden können. Ausgabeort der abgelegten Materialien ist der Zielpunkt in Los Llanos de Aridane beim Schließen des Kontrollpunktes.

•   Insgesamt sind 14 Versorgungsstationen (5 stationäre und 9 ambulante) auf der Gesamtstrecke und 1 Station am Zielbereich für die Kategorie Ultramarathon eingerichtet. Je nach Versorgungsstation werden die Läufer mit Trinkwasser und Iso-Getränken, einer Auswahl an Früchten, Energieriegel, belegten Brötchen, Trockenfrüchten und Gebäck versorgt.

•   Der Teilnehmer ist des Weiteren damit einverstanden, dass die von ihm bei der Veranstaltung gemachten Fotos, Filmaufnahmen oder Interviews in Funk, Fernsehen, Werbung, Internet oder Büchern ohne Anspruch auf Vergütung seinerseits vom Organisationsteam verbreitet und veröffentlicht werden darf. Die Verwendung dieser Materialien von Dritten bedarf der ausdrücklichen Einwilligung der Organisationsleitung.

Die Anmeldung

•   Die Anmeldung zum TRANSVULCANIA 2013 erfolgt mittels Zusendung per Mail der ausgefüllten Anmeldeformulare auf dieser Webseite. Bei der Überweisung der Anmeldegebühr auf das im Folgenden angeführte Bankkonto muss der Name des Teilnehmers (je Teilnehmer nur 1 Überweisung) und der Verwendungszweck „TRANSVULCANIA 2013“ gut leserlich aufgeführt werden.

•   Sobald die Organisationsleitung die Anmeldegebühr und die vollständigen Anmeldeformulare erhalten hat, wird der Teilnehmer auf der Teilnehmerliste aufgeführt, die stetig aktualisiert wird.

•   Die Anmeldefrist für die Entrichtung der Anmeldegebühr und das Einreichen aller Formulare beginnt für die TRANSVULCANIA 2013 am 18. May 2012 und endet am 23. April 2013 um 12.00 Uhr. Die Teilnehmerzahl an den Läufen ist wie folgt begrenzt: für den Ultramarathon werden 500 Läufer und für den Halbmarathon 400 Läufer zugelassen. Anmeldungen, die über diese Teilnehmerzahlen hinausgehen, können nicht berücksichtigt werden und werden auf einer Warteliste geführt. Sollten sich bis zum Ende der Anmeldefrist am 23. April 2012 freie Kapazitäten bei der Anzahl an bereits akkreditierten Teilnehmern ergeben, rutschen proportional die Anmeldungen nach, die auf der Warteliste geführt sind.

•   Wer am Transvulcania 2013 teilnehmen möchte, muss über eine Versicherung verfügen, die beispielsweise durch den Beitritt in einen entsprechenden Sportverein gewährt wird. Mit dieser Voraussetzung soll sichergestellt werden, dass der Teilnehmer auch im Falle eines Unfalls abgesichert ist. Wer keinen Nachweis darüber erbringen kann, muss   für den Tag der Wettläufe eine entsprechende Versicherung auf der offiziellen Webseite des Transvulcania 2013 abschließen.

•   Die Anmeldegebühr richtet sich nach folgenden Kriterien:

•   Für minderjährige Teilnehmer ab 16 Jahre wird eine Ermäßigung von 50% eingerichtet.

•   Die Anmeldung für die Teilnahme an der TRANSVULCANIA 2012 beinhaltet folgende Leistungen:

•   die Teilnahme am Wettlauf.

•   die Verpflegung an den Versorgungsstationen während des Wettlaufs.

•   die Verpflegung am Zielbereich.

•   der Transport zum Startpunkt von den autorisierten Treffpunkten.

•   der Transport vom Zielbereich zu den autorisierten Treffpunkten.

•   der Transport zum Zielbereich für Teilnehmer, die den Wettlauf abbrechen mussten oder disqualifiziert wurden.

•   der Transport persönlicher Gegenstände des Läufers vom Startpunkt am Leuchtturm in Fuencaliente bis zum Zielbereich sowohl in der Kategorie  Ultramarathon (Los Llanos de Aridane) als auch in der Kategorie Halbmarathon (el Refugio de El Pilar).

•   die Betreuung während des Wettlaufs durch sanitäre Infrastrukturen sowie Sicherheitsmaßnahmen der Organisationsleitung.

•   die Nutzung von Duschen, Umkleidekabinen und Massageleistungen in den sanitären Anlagen in Los Llanos de Aridane.

•   die Inanspruchnahme von Podologen-Leistungen für Teilnehmer am Ultramarathon.

•   die Verpflegung für den Läufer (und max. 3 Begleiter) nach der Preisverleihung.

•   Eine Tasche für den Läufer.

•   Ein T-Shirt als Souvenir.

•   Ein Finisher-T-Shirt für die Teilnehmer, die in der Kategorie Ultramarathon innerhalb des zeitlichen Rahmens von 18 Stunden durch die Ziellinie gelaufen sind.

•   Eine Finisher-Urkunde.

•   Die Anmeldung hat persönlichen und unübertragbaren Charakter und setzt die Akzeptanz der geltenden Richtlinien voraus. Die Organisationsleitung garantiert die Rückzahlung der Anmeldegebühr nur dann, wenn der Teilnehmer auf die Teilnahme an dem TRANSVULCANIA 2013 verzichten möchte und dies bis einschließlich 1. Dezember 2013 der Organisationsleitung mitteilt. Ab diesem Datum bis einschließlich 11. Februar 2013 gilt eine Erstattungsquote von 50% der Anmeldegebühr. Darüber hinaus liegende Erstattungsforderungen können nicht berücksichtigt werden.

•    Die Organisationsleitung garantiert die Rückzahlung der Anmeldegebühr wenn die Anmeldefrist für die Entrichtung der Anmeldegebühr und das Einreichen aller Formulare endet. Bitte, vergiss nicht dass du mit der Bankkomission und Kosten der Rückzahlung aufkommst.

•   Wenn der akkreditierte Teilnehmer aus eigenen Gründen nicht am Wettlauf teilnehmen kann, entfällt der geltende Anspruch auf die mit der Anmeldung verbundenen Leistungen.

•   Bei Aussetzung des Wettlaufs vor Beginn der Veranstaltung zahlt die Organisationsleitung jedem akkreditierten Teilnehmer die Anmeldegebühr in voller Höhe zurück.

•   Ungünstige klimatische Bedingungen bedeuten keinen Grund, die Veranstaltung auszusetzen. Die Organisationsleitung behält sich zu jedem Zeitpunkt vor, aus eigenen Motiven und zum Schutz der Teilnehmer die Veranstaltung entweder auszusetzen oder den Streckenverlauf zu ändern.

•   Jede Reklamation seitens des Teilnehmers an dem TRANSVULCANIA 2013 an die Organisationsleitung setzt die Zahlung einer Gebühr von 50,00 € voraus, die bei Rechtmäßigkeit der Reklamation zurückgezahlt wird.

•   Die Organisationsleitung übernimmt für den Inhalt der für den Transport zum Zielbereich  abgegebenen Taschen keine Haftung.

•   Der Teilnehmer befreit die Organisationsleitung von jedem Haftungsanspruch im Falle einer Verletzung und/oder eines Unfalls.

Die Kategorien und Preise

•   Die Preisverleihung findet am Abend der Veranstaltung gegen 20.00 Uhr statt.

•   Die Preise werden den jeweils ersten drei Teilnehmern der folgenden Kategorien verliehen:

Kategorie Veteran, männlich  (45 – 55 Jahre)

Kategorie Absolut, weiblich (ab 18 Jahre)

•   Die Teilnahmebedingungen der jeweiligen Kategorie werden von der Organisationsleitung rechtzeitig in den üblichen Medien bekannt gegeben.

•   Die Preise sind kumulativ.

•   Die Gewinner in den jeweiligen Kategorien, die bei den Preisverleihungen nicht anwesend sind und nicht durch die Teilnahme an den Wettläufen verhindert sind, verlieren den Anspruch auf die Verleihung des Preises durch die Organisationsleitung. In diesem Fall kann der Teilnehmer den Preis nach dem Ende der Veranstaltung und zu Beginn der darauf folgenden Woche bei der Organisationsleitung abholen.

Die Disqualifizierung

•   Abgesehen von den erwähnten Gründen, die zu einer Disqualifizierung eines Teilnehmers führen, kann die Organisationsleitung einen Teilnehmer disqualifizieren, wenn folgende Gründe angeführt werden können:

•   der Teilnehmer passiert nicht alle Kontrollpunkte.

•   der Teilnehmer bewältigt die ausgewiesene Strecke nicht in ihrer Gesamtheit zu Fuß.

•   der Teilnehmer verzichtet auf die Hilfestellung eines in Not geratenen Läufers.

•   der Teilnehmer trägt keine von der Organisationsleitung ausgegebene Startnummer.

Bemerkungen

Die vorliegenden Richtlinien können jederzeit durch die Organisationsleitung korrigiert, ergänzt oder geändert werden.

REGULATIONS OF THE MOUNTAIN RACE
TRANSVULCANIA 2013
SALOMON NATURE TRAILS

Art. 1 – Organisation.

THE MOUNTAIN RACE TRANSVULCANIA 2013 SALOMON NATURE TRIALS, is organized by the Council of Environment and Tourism of the Inter-Island Council of La Palma, with the collaboration from the Sports Council and different institutes and sponsors.

Art. 2 – Race.

THE MOUNTAIN RACE TRANSVULCANIA 2013 SALOMON NATURE TRIALS (from here on TRANSVULCANIA 2013), is a mountain race that crosses the island of La Palma through two paths of great distance, (GR130 and GR131) with the starting point in El Faro of Fuencaliente and the finishing point in Los Llanos de Aridane for the Ultramarathon of 83 kilometres and starting point in El Faro of Fuencaliente, and finishing point in El Refugio of El Pilar for the Half-marathon of 26 kilometres. The race will begin on the 11th of May, 2013 from 06.00am.

Art.3 – Regulations.

All participants will strictly comply with the rules for TRANSVULCANIA 2013. Any incidents in the race will be resolved by the TRANSVULCANIA 2013 panel made up of a Race Director, an Organization Member, a Runner Representative, a Judge Referee, and a Functionary of the Inter-Island Council of La Palma.

Participation

Participation will be open to all those people that formalize the REGISTRATION correctly. In addition they should present the PROOF OF PAYMENT, by mail or by fax (detailed further on) to be considered as a participating runner in TRANSVULCANIA 2013.

A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE must also be presented specifically completed by a studied doctor, which can be downloaded from the official website of the race as can a DISCLAIMER OF RESPONCIBILITY, filled in and signed in the moment of collecting the race bib/number a day before the race, at the time and in the place determined in advance by the Organization.

Participants should respect the means in which they do the race and keep the environment clean. They should eat and drink WITHOUT LEAVING ANY CONTAINER OUT OF THE RECEPTICLES LEFT FOR THAT USE. THE INCOMPLIENCE OF THIS POINT WILL LEAD TO THE RUNNER‘SIMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION . This can be done by a simple testimony from any member of race Organization team.

In the Ultramarathon, the participation of under 18’s is not permitted, while in the Half-marathon, runners of 16 and 17 years can participate, if they have provided a fully completed parental authorization.

This is a race of great endurance through the mountain and therefore we recommend a good level of physical fitness, that of which can negotiate the considerable slopes which occur throughout the race over difficult terrain.

It is totally prohibited to receive outside help or supplies during the course of the race other that at the points set out by the Organization. In the same way it is prohibited to run accompanied by other people that are not registered participants of the race.

The race bibs are issued on the 11th of May in the designated time and place by the Organization. The participants must present the proof of payment, the specified medical certificate, the completed disclaimer of responsibility and the DNI or any other legal identification documents. The under-18 runners, (those between 16 and 17 years of age) that participate in the Half-marathon, should also present, as well as the documents mentioned before, a parental authorisation, properly completed and signed. RACE BIBS CAN NOT BE COLLECTED ON THE DAY OF THE RACE.
Should any runner not be able to collect their race bib personally, they can authorize another person to do so by means of a personal authorization that should be properly completed and signed. Said authorization can be found in the race’s official website.

Race bibs must be worn at all times in a visible place and can not be cut, folded or modified.
The TRANSVULCANIA 2013 runner should wear at all times, the races identification vest provided by the Organization, worn with the corresponding race bib of their participation. FAILURE TO COMPLY TO THIS, WILL LEAD TO IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE RUNNER. On said vest is printed the telephone number of the races emergency device, which can only be used in case of emergency or rescue of the runner.

The Race

The distance of the race is approximately 83,3km with the accumulated slopes of 8.525 meters (4.415 ascending and 4.110 descending for the Ultramarathon ) and of 26,8km with the accumulated slopes of 2.910 meters (2.180 ascending and 730 descending ) for the Half-marathon

This race runs in its entirety for two paths of great distance, the GR130 and the GR131, without hardly contacting any population cores with the exception of the arrival in the town of Los Llanos de Aridane, a small stretch leading through the town of Los Canarios and another stretch in the harbour of Tazacorte.
The race’s route will be indicated by marker tape and signs specifically created for the race. The route planner used will be publicised in the race’s official web page. Any change or modification will be made public by the same means.

The route is not closed to traffic, therefore athletes must take extreme precautions and respect the road’s highway code.

At crossing points on the road, there will be Organization staff and security measures, as well as medical services at certain places along the entire route. These items are properly signposted and duly specified on the races route planner.

During the course of the race participants MUST HEED THE MEMBERS OF THE RACE ORGANIZATION at all times. Failure to comply with this point will result in immediate disqualification.
The race will be controlled by means of an electronic Champion-Chip system. The participants will receive a chip which they should carry the entire way. The Organization have control points located along the race to ensure that the runners complete the route, as well as recording the running times for each one. The chip should be handed in at the finishing point, or at the closest control point should the runner withdraw from the race.

The runners will have a maximum time limit of 18 hours to complete the race. Furthermore there is a set maximum time to pass control 4 (Refugio de El Pilar) of six hours (12:00pm) for the Ultramarathon and eight hours ( 14:00pm) for the runners of the Half-marathon The following maximum time limits have also been set for the Ultramarathon runners: control point 8 (Roque De Los Muchachos) of twelve hours (18:00) and control point 10 (Puerto de Tazacorte) of seventeen hours (23:00). All those participants that arrive with a higher time, will be disqualified. Those whom wish to continue will have to hand in the race bib and the chip but may carry on out of the race under their own responsibility.

During the course of the race, any runner that abandons the race are OBLIGED to advise the nearest control point or a member of the Organization team.

All runners must carry MANDATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT, which can be checked at the start, finish or at any point of the race. This should consist of: hydration system (type camelback or waist belt with the minimum capacity of 1 litre) headlamp, red light for back position, thermal blanket, and a mobile phone with the number provided at the registration, although this may only be used in case of emergency, withdrawal or rescue. In the case of the Half-marathon runners, the thermal blanket and the hydration system may be ignored, although they are highly recommended. Those athletes that do not carry the mandatory safety equipment, can not continue with the race and will be disqualified.

The Organization have a deposit at the refreshment/aid point for those runners that wish to get rid of any race material such as canes, clothes leggings etc. The Organization only take responsibility for material properly identified and left at these points, and be responsible to take them to the finish point in Los Llanos de Aridane when said refreshment/aid point has closed.
There will be a minimum of 14 refreshment/aid points (5 solids and 9 liquids) plus a final refreshment point at the end of the Ultramarathon comprising of water and isotonic drinks and of a variety of fruits, energy bars, rolls, dried fruit, and pastries, depending on whether it is a refreshment or other.

The image rights resulting in the TRANSVULCANIA 2013 exclusively belong to the race Organization and any use of the same, by company or individual shall be allowed or recognized by the organization.

Registration.

Registration is made by mail, by filling in the form of participation through this website in addition to the corresponding entry of the registration fee to the bank account detailed below. Said deposit must indicate in legible letters, the participants name (only one per deposit) and in addition the term TRANSVULCANIA 2013 in the section ‘’concept’’.

When the Organization has correctly received the bank transfer and has checked the provided documentation (only the receipt of payment) the registration can be formalized, appearing on the regularly updated list of participants.

The deadline for the registration for TRANSVULCANIA 2013 is between the 18th May 2012 and the 23rd April 2013, at 12:00pm. There will be a maximum limit on the number of participating runners for both the Ultramarathon (1000 places) and the Half-marathon (500), so the registration period will be conditioned by the number of runners that will be writing up to that date. Once the number of participants has been closed, ( in the case of covering the maximum number of entries) a reserve list will be created to fill up any drop outs that could occur until the final acceptance date of the applications (23 April, 2013).

The REGISTRATION FEE will be controlled by the following terms of payment:

These prices will have a reduction of 50% in all sections for all juvenile and junior runners ( 16 and 17 years ) that participate in the Half-marathon

The registration in the TRANSVULCANIA 2013, includes:

–           Participation in the race.

–           Solid and liquid refreshments during the race.

–           Refreshments at finishing point.

–           Transport service to the exit from established Organization points.

–           Transport service from arrival to established Organization points.

–           Transfer of personal bag of each runner from the start of El Faro in Fuencaliente until both the arrival at the finishing line in Los Llanos de Aridane ( Ultramarathon ) and that of El Refugio of El Pilar (Half-marathon)

–           Assistance during the race through the medical device and security set by the Organization.

–           Transport service to the finishing line for those participants that abandon the race.

–           Showers, changing rooms, and massages in the service area situated in Los Llanos de Aridane.

–           Chiropodist service for runners of the Ultramarathon.

–           Food for the runner in the service area once awards are concluded (up to a maximum of three guests ) .

–           Runners bag.

–           Commemorative T-shirt.

–           Finisher shirt for those runners that complete the Ultramarathon inside the time established by the Organization of 18 hours.

–           Finisher certificate.

Registration is personal and non transferable and implies the acceptance of these rules. From the moment the registration is paid, the Organization agrees to return 100% of the amount paid by the runner, if the non participation is justified, before the 1st of December 2012. From that date until the 11th of February 2013, 50% of the contribution paid by the runner, shall be returned, and from this date on there will be no fee refund in the event of non participation, for whatever reason.

In the event that the runner does not participate in the race on the 11th May, for whatever reason, the organization is not obliged to give any souvenir ( neither runner’s bag nor commemorative T-shirt ) once the TRANSVULCANIA 2013 is over.
In the event that the race is suspended before it starts, the Organization will proceed to refund the registration fee to all those runners registered.
Bad weather will not be an impediment to the realization of the race, although the Organization reserves the right to suspend or modify the route if it sees fit to do so, above all, if they feel that the physical integrity of the runners may be impaired.
Any participant of the TRANSVULCANIA 2013 that wishes to make a claim to the race Organization, must submit a deposit of 50 Euros, only to be returned should such claim is favourable to the claimant.
The Organization will not be held responsible for any objects left inside the personal bags that are transported to the finishing line.
The participant exempts the Organization from any liability for injury and/or accident.

Categories and prizes

The awards ceremony is held at approximately 20:00pm on the day of the race’s celebration.
A trophy is given to the three classified awards of the following categories:

–           Senior Male Category ( between 18 and 44 years ).
–           Senior Female Category ( between 18 and 39 years ).

–           Veteran Male Category ( between 45 and 55 years ).
–           Veteran Female Category ( between 40 and 50 years ).

–           Platinum Male Category ( from 56 years of age ).
–           Platinum Female Category ( from 51 years of age ).

–           Absolute Male Category ( from 18 years of age ).
–           Absolute Female Category ( from 18 years of age ).

The mode of participation within these categories will be announced by the organization with sufficient time and by the usual means.
Prizes are cumulative.
It is essential that the winners are present a the time of the awards ceremony, provided that the runner is not still competing, in which case the organization of TRANSVULCANIA 2013 will not be obliged to send the trophy to the winner, it should be picked in a place and at a time determined by the Organization during the week after the celebration of the race.

Disqualifications

In addition to reasons previously mentioned, the Organization may disqualify a participant of the race if found that:

– The runner has not passed all control points.
– The runner has not made all the route marked out by the Organization by foot.
– The runner has not rendered assistance to any other participant that needed it.
– The runner has not worn the race bib in a visible frontal place specified by the Organization.

Modifications

These regulations can be corrected, modified or improved at any time by the Organization.

The completion of the registration demonstrates the approval of the participant of these regulations.
